p-model (the origin of this name is unknown, as far as i know...) is susumu hirasawa's most successful band, active from 1979 to 2000. the members had changed A LOT during the years, so i won't name all of them. their most successful album is "in a model room" (1979), which is a zolo/new wave album, it's very silly. but these genres do not define the rest of their music at all, as they had experimented with their style a lot in more ways than one. for example, in a model room, their first album, is completely different sound-wise and lyric-wise than their last and second-last albums, music industrial wastes: p-model or die (1999), and electronic tragedy: enola (1997). these last two albums are sci-fi concept albums while in a model room's lyrics are about sociopolitical problems of japan at the time, and also the book 1984 (according to wikipedia at least, i don't know japanese yet unfortunately)
as for my favorite p-model albums, it jumps around a lot, but i think my favorites ever right now are p-model or die, another game, landsale, and enola. they are all good though... another game is definitely the least silly album p-model has (along with perspective) compared to all the other albums that have at least one element of silly, but its still amazing
